What is SYNC technology?
Ford's SYNC technology is an integrated infotainment and communication system that allows you to make hands-free calls as well as control audio and other functions using voice commands.
Now in its 4th generation, Ford’s SYNC 4 is faster and more capable than ever and offers all-new functionalities.

What's new for 2021?
SYNC 4 technology takes connectivity to another level by now offering features such as conversational voice recognition. Thus, you'll be able to enjoy even better cloud connectivity and get more relevant information from the Internet, such as nearby stores and restaurants, as well as charging stations along your route for example.
In addition, SYNC 4 offers double the computing power compared to SYNC 3, making it faster and more efficient than the current version.
An even more advanced on-board experience
SYNC 4 has been designed to work on different screen sizes—from 8 to 15.5 inches—and to offer Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and SYNC AppLink wireless compatibility, on top of allowing you to take advantage of wireless charging of your devices.
So, depending on the size of your vehicle's display, different functionalities are available:
12-inch display
With the 12-inch screen, it will be possible to divide it into several windows of different sizes. This feature is very useful, for example, if you want to keep the navigation data on the screen while displaying another, smaller window that will allow you to switch the streaming music service or song you are playing.

15.5-inch display
If your vehicle features a 15.5-inch screen, you will be able to add Adaptive Dash Cards. The latter will allow you to list popular or recently used features so that you can find them much more quickly and avoid having to navigate between different screens.
In addition, these cards are interactive; for example, they allow you to change the audio track without having to go through the music player screen.

The Internet navigation service will allow you to access, in real time, all weather updates for your region—or the one you are about to visit—as well as all traffic information.
Your easy-to-access owner's manual
If you need information on the operation of your vehicle or on a particular issue, SYNC 4 offers you the possibility to access the owner's manual directly from the screen.
In addition, you'll enjoy explanatory videos on various subjects, something you can't get with a paper owner's manual.
SYNC 4 and SiriusXM with 360L
Finally, SiriusXM with 360L will provide you with an exceptional experience, giving you the opportunity to choose from thousands of interviews and on-demand programs, a first.
What's more, the system will be able to offer you content that may be of interest to you, based on your previous choices and your list of favorites.

Which vehicles will benefit from SYNC 4?
For now, SYNC 4 is currently available in the all-new 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-e; the 2021 Ford F-150 as well as the 2021 Ford Bronco will also benefit from this new technology.
