Titanic Duel: 2021 GMC Sierra vs. 2021 Ford F-150
Posted on September 11, 2020
Already a class leader in many areas and endowed with legendary Ford reliability, the 2021 Ford F-150 raises the bar once again, and will leave the competition even further behind, including the new 2021 GMC Sierra 1500. 440 Ford tells you more about the new features of the 2021 F-150, which will soon be unveiled at your Ford dealer in Laval near the North Shore of Montreal!
Tougher silhouette
The F-150 has always had a muscular and impressive silhouette, and that won't change in 2021! The all-new front grille is instantly noticeable—no less than 11 different models!—the new exterior mirror housings, the wide light units, the new triple headlights and the large selection of well-sized wheels. One thing's for sure: the 2021 Sierra 1500 has nothing to envy when it comes to design!
Numerous engines
While the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 has 5 different engines—ranging from 285 to 420 horsepower—and a maximum towing capacity of 12,100 lb, the 2021 F-150 offers even more engine choices:
- A 290-hp 3.3-litre V6,
- A 325-hp 2.7-litre EcoBoost,
- A 375-hp 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6,
- A 450-hp 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6,
- A 325-hp Power Stroke Turbo Diesel,
- A 395-hp 5.0-litre V8.
And new for 2021, the F-150 will feature an all-new, class-exclusive PowerBoost Hybrid engine. This hybrid powertrain features a 450-hp, 3.5-litre V6 twin-turbo engine paired with a 35 kW (47 hp) electric motor; the net power output hasn't been announced yet, but what we do know is that you'll be able to drive short distances in full electric mode, and the F-150 Hybrid will have a towing capacity of up to 12,000 lb. Finally, you'll be able to cover more than 1,100 kilometres on a single tank of gas, which is more than any other competitor, including the Sierra 1500!
What's more, Ford is presenting its new F-150 as "the strongest and most capable" F-150 to date, and as the most powerful truck in its class if you opt for the 3.5-litre V6.
As for the other engines, they will be mated to a 6-speed or 10-speed automatic transmission, as well as a 4x2 or 4x4 drive system. You'll also benefit from a maximum towing capacity of 13,200 lb (gas engine), the highest in its class. As for the diesel engine, it will allow you to tow up to 11,500 lb, depending on the version you choose, which is more than the 2021 Sierra 1500.
An interior full of new features!
Many new features await you aboard the 2021 F-150, starting with the Pro Power Onboard system, a class-exclusive, which will allow you to use your truck as a mobile generator, even when you've turned off the engine.
The interior of the F-150 has also been completely redesigned for 2021 and offers different materials such as high-quality leather and genuine wood-trimmed accents. You'll also appreciate the heated and ventilated seats, dual-zone temperature control, the huge 12-inch touchscreen—larger than in the Sierra—Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, the all-new SYNC 4 system, a powerful 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system and more. In addition, the 2021 F-150 can count on all-new, class-exclusive Max Recline Seats, as well as Selectable Zone Lighting that illuminates both the interior and exterior of the vehicle. This exclusive feature is available on select models and can be controlled via the FordPass app. On your phone.
Safety is also on point abord the 2021 F-150, with technologies such as Forward Collision Warning with Emergency Braking, BLIS with Trailer Coverage, Adaptive Cruise Control, class-exclusive Pro Trailer Backup Assist and much more, depending on the model and options selected.
As you can see, the all-new 2021 Ford F-150 has nothing to envy the competition, including the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500! To learn more about this truck comparison or to be one of the first to take it for a test drive, don't delay any longer and come and see us at 440 Ford in Laval near Montreal!
