Posted on June 19, 2020
If you're torn between a sports car and an SUV, or if you want to replace your gas model with an electric vehicle, you'll soon be able to combine these different features: say hello to the all-new 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E, which will soon be making its explosive entrance at 440 Ford in Laval, near Montreal, and at a very attractive price! The very first Ford Mustang SUV to see the light of day (and electric, to boot), it will certainly be a big hit with buyers looking for a model that's out of the ordinary and capable of solid performances!
It's the beginning of a new era...
As much as the arrival of the Mustang revolutionized the automotive industry in 1964, this all-new Ford electric SUV will do the same when it arrives in dealerships! Over the decades, the Mustang has never been afraid to push back the limits and offer more to its fans; it proves this once again by being available for the very first time not only as an SUV, but also as an all-electric model, another first for the legendary sports car.
A version for all tastes and budgets
When it hits the market, the 2021 Mustang Mach-E will be available in five different trim levels: Select, Premium, California Route 1, First Edition and GT Performance Edition, with prices ranging from $50,495 to $82,995. But no matter which version you choose, you'll enjoy a vehicle with a stunning design and a profile that confirms that this is indeed a sporty model, despite its versatility.
The exterior features of the 2021 Mach-E include an elongated hood, a menacing front end, sculpted lines, well-defined wheel arches as well as an aggressive rear section adorned with 3 vertical striped taillights of the most striking effect. Not to mention the Mustang emblem proudly displayed on the front grille! And even though it's a utility vehicle, you'll recognize the Mustang's distinctive silhouette at first glance.
Power? Oh yes!
Electric vehicles don't rhyme with golf carts, quite the contrary! And the 2021 Mach-E is here to prove that it's possible to offer an affordable, 100% electric SUV that provides impressive performances. So depending on the model you choose, you'll get between 255 and 459 horsepower; in addition, the Ford Mustang Mach-E has a driving range of 325 to 475 kilometres, depending on whether or not you opt for a model equipped with a long-life battery (75.7 kWh or 98.8 kWh). You will also have the choice between a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive model.
On top of great power output, you'll also get a rocket start! In fact, you'll get a 0–60 mph (0–96 km/h) in just 3.5 seconds, which is faster than a Porsche 911 GTS! And as for recharging, you can plug your 2021 Mustang Mach-E into a level 2 (240V) charging station at home or in a public place, to recover up to 51 kilometres of range per hour of recharging; and if you use a 150 kW level 3 charging station, you'll recover 76 kilometres in only 10 minutes!
A spacious interior full of commodities
This Ford electric SUV can accommodate up to 5 occupants and offers you a generous cargo volume. In fact, the trunk can swallow up to 822 litres, and up to 1,689 litres when the rear seats are folded down. What's more, raise the hood and you'll find a 136-litre storage compartment!
Among the features you can enjoy aboard your Mustang Mach-E are heated seats, a 10.2-inch digital dashboard, an extra large 15.5-inch vertical touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and so much more; and the Mach-E is the very first Ford model to benefit from the new generation of the SYNC system.
Although the official release date of the Mustang Mach-E is not yet known, we know it will arrive by the end of 2020; however, pre-orders are now possible!
