The 2017 Ford C-MAX Hybrid is designed for fun-to drive performance. It features power-split hybrid architecture, which allows the high-voltage battery and gasoline-powered engine to work together or separately using the motor and generator. Next-generation SmartGauge® with EcoGuide and Brake Coach provide real-time information about your driving performance. Even braking in C-MAX Hybrid is efficient, thanks to regenerative braking, which recovers more than 90 percent of this energy and sends it back to the battery to be stored for later use.
SECURITY
When you apply the brakes in a conventional vehicle, kinetic energy is lost to heat due to friction. During braking in Ford C-MAX Hybrid and C-MAX Energi Plug-In Hybrid, however, regenerative braking recovers more than 90 percent of the energy that would normally be lost.

TECH
The 2016 Ford C-MAX Hybrid powertrain uses an eCVT, or electronically controlled continuously variable transmission, combining power from the engine and electric motor to deliver power to the wheels when you accelerate.
